     I was diagnosed with skin cancer in March of 2001. I have always loved the sun and having a nice tan was very important to me. Like so many others, I never expected at such a young age to be informed that I have skin cancer, and that my time In the sun would end suddenly.
     My doctor's office offered plenty of sunscreen products, but offered no sunless tanning products to substitute the tan I had grown so accustomed to having. I began researching the sunless tanning industry and learned that there has been a growth of 20-25% each year since 1998, and it is projected to be an eight hundred million dollar market by the year 2005. If doctors can offer their patients the most effective alternative to the sun, just think of how many lives will be changed and even saved.
     Since then, I have formed a partnership with my dermatologist, Dr. Lee Laris, and Body Bronze Products. Inc., was created. As a teenager I worked in a tanning salon for a year during high school. I was able to tan at no charge so I took full advantage of that and tanned about 6 times a week for about 20 minutes a session to get that nice golden tan that everyone wants. As a result of doing this and never listening to inherent warnings about the dangers of tanning beds I have seen a dermatologist seven times in the last three years to prevent skin cancer. I have a few scars in two different places where the doctor had to remove moles that potentially were skin cancer. All tests results have came back non-treating as of now but there still remains a lot of skin damage.
As a result of all of this I have chosen to stay out of direct sunlight and tanning beds so I can prevent skin cancer and any other sun damage. To me having beautiful skin is a must in my career. As a model to have beautiful skin goes a long way so with Body Bronze I still can have that beautiful glow without the harmful sunrays! I have been in the Mist-On Tanning Salons and I liked them at first but after a few times there gets to be a build up of tanning on your knees, ankles and elbows that to me doesn?t appear to be natural.
